Condom: Answers to Common Objections

Aside from abstinence, the use of condoms is a great way to lessen the possibility of transmission of the dreaded sexually transmitted disease and also the HIV infection.

Here are some of the answers you can give to the common objections of your partner:

1. Your partner: We don’t really need a condom because I am on the pill.

You: We will use it anyway since we will be both protected from infections. We may never know.

2. Your partner: I didn’t have any sex with anybody for x months so I know that I am clean.

You: Thanks, I am not infected too but I would rather like that we use a condom as either of us may have an infection now but did not know it yet.

3. Your partner: I am still a virgin.

You: But I am not. It is better this way so both of us will be protected.

4. Your partner: I don’t feel anything when I am using a condom. It has the same feeling when you’re wearing your raincoat in a shower.

You: Although you lose some of your sensation, you will still have plenty that is left.

5. Your partner: If I stop to put it on, I will lose my erection.

You: That’s not a problem. I will help you to put it on. Then that will help you keep it.

6. Your partner: I am out of the mood by the time I am done putting it on.

15. Your partner: Do you carry a condom with you? Well, you are just seducing me.

You: I always have one with me. I care for myself and my partner.

16. Your partner: If you keep on insisting in using a condom, I would rather not have a sex with you.

You: Ok so let us put it off first until we agree with each other because I don’t have sex without it.

17. Your partner: It will disturb our sex and intimacy.
