Dr Alla Venkata Krishna Reddy is considered to be the top innovator when it comes to condom designs. His aim in designing condoms is to make intercourse much more pleasurable for both the men and the women, resulting in them using the condom more.

One of Dr. Reddy’s latest designs is the female condom. The new version of the female condom provides an upgrade to older versions of the female condoms that was met with a lot of negativity and dissatisfaction. The Reddy Female condom comes hot on the heels of the release of the widely popular Inspiral Condom. It is said that Dr. Reddy and his partners have invested up to 7 million US Dollars in order to bring the new female condom into the market. This new condom is set to help give women an active role in preventing contraction of AIDS and other Sexually Transmitted Diseases.

First of all, let us define what a female condom is. A female condom is a contraceptive device that is worn internally by the receptive partner and physically blocks the entry of ejaculated semen coming from the other person’s body. Female condoms have been available in the market for over a decade and a half.

The Reddy designed condom is distributed as the VA w.o.w. This condom is made from latex material that any woman can wear easily. A feature unique to the VA w.o.w is its flexible V frame at the top and an inner sponge at the base that helps hold the condom in place during intercourse.

The VA w.o.w condom also comes in variations that have colored V rings. An advantage to the new latex Reddy designed female condom is the fact that it does not make crinkling noises during intercourse and are much more flexible than the old condoms that were once made of polyurethane.

Like all latex products, Reddy designed female condoms to be safe for use with water based lubricants. Oil based lubricants however, may damage the product’s integrity.
There is a difference between real world studies on the condom and those that were presented by Health Councils. These results however are related to the original Female condom. New ones like the new Reddy designed condoms are much more efficient, but these result are nonetheless significant to its use.

• Health organizations say that the exposure to semen was significantly lesser when using female condoms compared to male condoms. Real World studies have shown that female condoms resulted in more instances of pregnancy when compared to male condoms. Reddy Designed female condom manufacturers contest this fact saying that the women just were not fully informed on the proper application of the condom and that is what they are trying to achieve with the new version.

One disadvantage to the use of the female condom is the fact that it is much more expensive than male condoms, other than that Reddy designed Female condoms have proven to be effective and much more easier to use than old female condom versions.
